Potluck Luncheon at St. Paul Church

There is a covered dish luncheon after the Sunday morning service on the first Sunday of each month.    Please plan to come to our worship service and stay afterwards for the luncheon.  If you can, please bring a covered dish for all to enjoy.  Call Treva Brodersen for more information (850-5999.)

The Lunch Bunch

The "Lunch Bunch" is a group of ladies who gather on the third Friday of the month for lunch and fellowship.  The venue changes monthly as different members of the group sign-up to act as "hostess" and plan the meetings.  The Lunch Bunch usually meets at a local restaurant, but sometimes gather in someone's home or meet for a "brown bag" lunch at the church.  Information about the monthly gatherings is announced in the Sunday bulletins and in our newsletter.  There is a sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin board for anyone wanting to host a Lunch Bunch meeting.

FOURTH OF JULY LUNCH

We will have our monthly “first Sunday” lunch outdoors in the greenspace this year. Tommy Fagiana is providing pulled pork BBQ for the main dish.  Congregants are encouraged to bring their favorite side dish or dessert to help complete our meal.

BOOK-&-BAKE SALE

Last year’s BOOK-&-BAKE SALE was such a great success that we have planned the event again this year. Mark Saturday, September 25 on your calendars and plan to come browse a large selection of used books and sample the tasty treats from all the great chefs at St. Paul’s!

BLESSING of the ANIMALS

The Blessing of the Animals service will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 3rd.

Episcopal Relief And Development

We are now in the process of raising money to buy a goat! In the past we have purchased pigs and mosquito netting for use in third-world countries, gave over $600 for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts,  and now we are saving up for a goat. A goat provides a family with the opportunity to create a regular income.  Goats are hardy, reproduce quickly, and can be raised in a variety of climates to produce staple items such as milk, cheese, and manure for farming.  Stop by the church office to pick up an ER-D brochure about their programs to assist the needy not only in the USA, but all over the world. You can also go to www.er-d.org for more information.

Christian Children’s Fund

The Church Council has voted to support a disadvantaged child in another country through the Christian Children’s Fund.  We have selected Cleiton, a young Brazilian boy who lives with his grandmother and mother in a rural community located in the southwestern part of the state of Ceara. We encourage members of the congregation to individually select and support a similar child as well.  The cost is nominal and the web address is www.christianchildrensfund.org.

C.R.O.S.S.

Christians Reaching Out Serving Seymour is a church supported, social welfare agency which provides needy persons with food and assistance with utilities and

rent payments and other emergency assistance.  It is supported by 16 local churches, among which is St. Paul Church. We will continue to contribute food items that they require.  We will post here, and on the front page, a list of needed food items.  You can bring them to the church and we will take them over to C.R.O.S.S. periodically.

CHURCH BUILDING

Undercroft  Renovations

We have started our renovation of the Undercroft (basement).  Once completed, the Undercroft will house the Church Office, Clergy Office, Sacristy, Choir Room, Furnace Room, and a large "multi-purpose" room.  We hope to complete much of this work through the efforts of volunteers from the congregation.  If you are interested in helping with this vital project, please see our Junior Warden, Treva Brodersen.
